Alleged Land Grabbing: Imolites Urge Uzodinma To Spare No Culprit, Sack Aides, Assembly Officers Involved

Indications are rife that the Imo citizens welcome Governor Hope Uzodinma on-going move to stamp out alleged corruption in process of land acquisitions involving some members of the executive and legislature in the state.

Nigeria Newspoint investigation tends to reveal Imolites’ appreciation of  Governor Uzodinma’s courage and forthrightness in exposing and arresting some members of his recently  dissolved state executive council with the alleged scam in cases of land acquisitions in Imo State, and  for which a former Lands Commissioner, Noble Atulegwu was reportedly arrested last year.

Recall that some members of the recently dissolved  Imo State Executive Council and aides of the governor, were last year,  implicated in alleged sharp practices in the  name of land acquisitions for the government.

Speculations are also rife that top legislators in the state assembly may have been allegedly fingered in the reported land scam.

Imolites who prefered anonymity hinted Nigeria Newspoint that aside from the ex-Lands Commissioner, Atulegwu, some other members of the executive or aides of the governor, any principal officer of the House of Assembly found to be complicit in the alleged corruption in the said land acquisition, should not only be prosecuted, but equally removed from his position without delay.

The citizens insisted that Governor Uzodinma not have any sacred cows, but to fish out any principal officer of the state assembly involved in the alleged land scam, just as it did to some of the now ex-commissioners said to be involved the reported land grabbing last year.

Imo people opine that  the governor should take decisive action on the matter, as such will reinforce their confidence in the anti-corruption stance of  Uzodinma’s 3R Administration that just began its second term in office.
